Western Reserve Distillers loves to celebrate handcrafted tequila from craft distillers in Mexico. Bearing this in mind, we have welcomed Tequila Patron to our Tasting Room for special cocktail and tequila flight events that have been very well received.
This month we welcome Patron back for an extra special event. In our latest installment, "Tequila 201", we will be tasting the full range of Patron's high end portfolio. This includes all three of the Roca Patron tequilas, Gran Patron Platinum, and their rare and wonderful Gran Patron Piedra and Gran Patron Burdeos.
The Roca line of Patron Tequilas are made with the most select agave plants harvested from the fields, which yield a higher fermentable sugar content and hence a more robust and distinct flavor. The Gran Patron line also comes from these select agave plants, but goes through additional barrel aging to produce more speciality spirits. Platinum rests in oak for 30 days, while Piedra is aged in a combination of French Limousin and new American oak barrels for four years. Burdeos gets its highest distinction from secondary aging in French Bordeaux wine barrels.
As a special addition, we will be featuring the Guillermo Del Toro Extra Anejo Patron. Only 11 bottles of this made their way into Ohio this year. It's a special extra anejo expression made specifically for Mexican director Guillermo del Toro, and is accompanied with a small addition of extra anejo orange agave spirit.
The flight for the evening will include each of the Roca and Gran Patron spirits. We will also be raffling off free flights for two lucky guests. The evening will also feature signature cocktails, each of which will use Roca tequilas for the base spirits.
For true tequila lovers, this evening is not to be missed!"
